Record Store Day

Record Store Day 2025!! RSD25 is on April 12th this year! On February 18, 2025 our RSD orders have been submitted to our distributors, so the "Request Line" is now closed. Our "Request Line", however, was a colossal success! Thanks to all who submitted requests! Seriously!! We ordered all the requests and then some, however the request does NOT guarantee you a copy. We CANNOT hold, reserve, take prepayments, or flashy bribes for RSD items, per Record Store Day. What your request did accomplish was we added the item to our order. Also with limited pressings and supplies the record stores themselves are allocated only so many titles as well. Some we get shut out on, even.
Our list of what we will have in stock *and* quantities will be posted on April 10th by 6pm.
First Come, First Serve on Record Store Day. Open at 8am. One title of an item per person, so you can buy multiple records just not more than one of the same item. Strict rule. With limited pressings, we want as many different people get a chance at some of these. Plus, it's an attempt to thwart the secondhand market. Well, RSD and all of us are trying to thwart that market, bless our little indie record store hearts, haha. In any event, we hope to see you before Record Store Day as we are open 6 days a week. We appreciate all those who shop here on "normal" days too! See you soon and good luck on RSD!
-----------------------------
Thanks for your continued support on the other days not named Record Store Day. Here's a look at titles we have remaining from previous Record Store Day's!! Check the list! Certain titles (not ALL of them!) are marked down 20%. Also, check the Record Store Day TAB in our header for titles you can buy from our site.

Swimming - Mac Miller

- Label: Warner Brothers
Double vinyl LP pressing. 2018 release, the fifth studio album by rapper Mac Miller. Includes the single "Self Care." Mac has accomplished every goal he ever set for himself. At least that's what the magazines say about the Pittsburgh kid, and they're right enough. With his first album, he became a grassroots rap megastar. With his second he bared his weird soul and was praised for it.
New Abnormal - Strokes

- Label: Cult Records
A very much anticipated release from The Strokes!! Released in April of 2020 this release, which was produced by Rick Rubin, includes At the Door, Not the Same Anymore, The Adults Are Talking, Bad Decisions, Why Are Sundays So Depressing, and others. This is the 6th album from these garage rock, post-punk legends.
Note: "Buy Now" and get it shipped to your door. You'll be redirected to PayPal, a modest shipping charge ($4.98 for single LPs) will be added. Please contact us if you’d like to bundle a few records with one shipping charge. We ship next day.
Pick-Up Option: If you'd like to pick up this record (and others) at the shop, we can arrange a "non-shipping" payment, plus sales tax. Send an email or DM via the socials and we can set-up payment and an appointment.
Unfun - Jawbreaker

- Label: Blackball Records
This is the 2010 reissue of Jawbreaker's 1990 debut "Unfun". Quite possibly one of the early forefathers of the punk/emo movement of the 1990's. Many pop punk bands cite Jawbreaker and this record as an influence. Jawbreaker toured with Nirvana in 1993.
Is This Thing Curseed? - Alkaline Trio

- Label: Epitaph Records
After a 5 year gap between studio records, Alkaline Trio returned in 2018 with Is This Thing Cursed? Produced by Cameron Webb, this record contains; Blackbird, Sweet Vampires, Stay, Demon and Division, Little Help, and others. In general, met with positive results from fans and critics alike, here is what AllMusic had to say, "Recapturing the spirit of earlier recordings, Chicago punk stalwarts Alkaline Trio polish those rough edges of youthful messiness and hit an effortless stride with their ninth album. At its boisterous best, Cursed soars with the trademark harmonies of Matt Skiba and Dan Andriano, popping with an energy that recalls past peaks like 2000's Maybe I'll Catch Fire and 2001's From Here to Infirmary."
As most of you know, Dan Andriano has roots that lead back to Elgin, Illinois. He's like a favorite son around here!
Let It Be - The Replacements

- Label: Twin Tone (Reissue)
The 1984 release from Minneapolis' own, The Replacements. While the rest of the world was living in a Material World, in the Purple Rain, or Dancing in the Dark (not horrible choices, by any means), there was a small band of fans listening to bands like The Replacements. Some will say this is their best record and they would not be wrong. This reissue contains I Will Dare (in-the-pocket guitar solo by REM's Peter Buck), Unsatisfied, Answering Machine, Androgynous, and in a little poke at MTV and video stars, Seen Your Video. The cover photo was taken on the roof of the Stinson's family home and is now somewhat of a Minneapolis tourist attraction. This album became an influence to many bands who went on to gain fame in the 90's. Count Kurt Cobain, Craig Finn, and Billy Joe Armstrong as fans, to name a few.
Enter the Wu Tang (36 Chambers) - Wu Tang Clan

- Label: Loud Records
Now me - being a white, suburban-class, pimply teenager - would normally write off a large group of hip hopperz, or gangsta thugz, as being pretty unintelligent and... Well... Stupid (C'mon! I wear thick-framed glasses, khakis, and listen to Wilco!) Then a person like Robert Diggs (aka RZA) comes around and blows every notion I had ever had about Hip Hop out of the water. This guy - pretty much known as a thug from brooklyn - wrote, arranged, produced, mixed, and arranged nearly this whole masterpiece of a record. The story behind the title itself is pretty amazing (Wikipedia it, if haven't heard). This record changed the way I listen to music, and taught me a lot about that whole 'never judge a record by its sleeve' thing... Well... Everything except Barbra Streisand... -John Perrin, Elgin, IL (John is currently the drummer for the incomparable NRBQ and an in-demand session musician)
A Moon Shaped Pool - Radiohead

- Label: XL Recordings
Excellent release from Radiohead from 2015, "A Moon Shaped Pool" and still don't understand why there is no hypen between moon-shaped, haha. Features "Burn the Witch" and the great thing about Radiohead is that there isn't a lot of studio trickery. If there's violins, it's not a synth or some app, it's an orchestra or horn section. Real humans.
Sign O the Times - Prince

- Label: Warner Brothers
Released in 1987, this is arguably Prince's finest work, or at least it is this writer's favorite. Includes Sign O' the Times, Housequake, U Got the Look, Starfish & Coffee, I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man (covered by the Goo Goo Dolls, of all bands, which is awesome!!) and others. A two record set, listen to the title track and find Prince was way ahead of his time on the social justice issues of today. I own a copy at home, but it's so good, writing this now makes me want to crack open this copy and play it in the shop, but I won't, I'll save it for you to open and play in your house(quake).
In Utero - Nirvana

- Label: Geffen
Nirvana's last studio record while Cobain was still alive and produced by Steve Albini. Though it didn't quite get the press that Nevermind did (then again, how many records throughout history have?) some say In Utero is much better than Nevermind. Includes "Heart-Shaped Box" and "All Apologies". It features a much more abrasive sound and may not have had the same pop appeal fans were expecting but sold very well nonetheless. Get it on vinyl today.
Call Me If You Get Lost - Tyler the Creator

- Label: Columbia Records
Double vinyl LP pressing in gatefold jacket. Includes poster. 2022 release. "Call Me If You Get Lost" is Tyler's sixth studio album and includes additional guest appearances from 42 Dugg, Lil Wayne, Domo Genesis, Brent Faiyaz, Lil Uzi Vert, Pharrell Williams, Teezo Touchdown, Fana Hues and Daisy World. Includes the tracks Lemonhead, Massa, Rise!, Blessed, Juggernaut, Manifesto, and others.
Don't Smile At Me - Billie Eilish

- Label: Interscope Records
One of the biggest and rising stars of 2019, Billie Eilish burst onto the music scene with this EP on Interscope, though it does contain a couple of previously released singles. You've heard them digitally, why not have them on vinyl? This set includes, Watch, Bellyache, My Boy, and Copy Cat. Eilish collaborates with her brother, Finneas. A young rising star in the industry, Billie Eilish was born in December of 2001.
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath

- Label: Warner Brothers
The stunning debut from Black Sabbath. Consider the year it came out, 1970, and what else was released that year and it seems ahead of it's time not only by metal standards but by rock standards as well. In a word? Menacing. Ozzy may have become a cartoon caricature of himself later in life and this may be the only Ozzy you know. Listen to *this* Ozzy Osbourne. Listen to this record, buy this record, and you will hear a band and a singer at the peak of their powers. As mentioned, this was the debut and their subsequent early 1970's releases are on par with any rock or metal outfit out there. Listen for the first time, hipsters, or replace that worn out copy you've had for years.
That Much Further West - Lucero

- Label: Liberty & Lament Records
20th anniv reissue of Memphis' own Lucero. They have recently been playing entire album shows and this record has been in rotation (literally!) in a few of the shows - one of them in Baltimore, MD. Maybe you were there! Includes the title track, The Only One, Hate and Jealousy, Sad and Lonely, Coming Home, and others, including a demo of That Much Further West.
Piece of Mind - Iron Maiden

- Label: Ingrooves - BMG
Get your metal on with this release from Iron Maiden. A sealed reissue, replace that worn out copy you had or the tape that got eaten in a cassette deck in your Camaro in the 1980's! Originally released in 1983, this is the fourth album in Maiden's catalog and features, Flight of Icarus, The Trooper, and Die With Your Boots On.
Physical Graffiti - Led Zeppelin

- Label: Swan Song - Atlantic
The entire Led Zeppelin camp and their disciples of fans should be thrilled with all these 2014-2015 reissues of their entire catalog. Here we welcome the reissue of the 1975 classic "Physical Graffiti". It's complete with the original inner sleeves, inserts, and the cut-out window slots of the original cover. We don't have to post a song list, you know exactly what is on here, but we will say one of our faves is "Down By the Seaside" and "Kashmir", no matter how many times we've heard it. This is the double album reissue. Here we are in 2025 and this record just celebrated its 50th anniversary!
Kiss Me Kiss Me Kiss Me - The Cure

- Label: Rhino Records
This was a breakthrough record for The Cure in 1987, because even with modest success of "Head On the Door", the Cure was still kind of one of those "weird bands" that that one kid listened to, while everyone else was listening to "Appetite for Destruction" or Springsteen, not that those aren't good choices, but that was the landscape then. They were on the "College Radio" charts on the back of Rolling Stone magazine, but with tunes like Just Like Heaven, Hot Hot Hot, Why Can't I Be You, and others, this kind of put them on the popstream map! Also includes other near perfect pop songs like Catch, Torture, and The Perfect Girl. Maybe you had this on CD or cassette and then streamed it for years, now is the time to get this sweet double album on vinyl!
Abbey Road (50th Anniversary Edition) - The Beatles

- Label: Apple Records/Capital
The 50th anniversary edition of the hallowed Beatles release Abbey Road. These are the Giles Martin and Sam Okell remasters. The songs sound as we remember them, maybe just a little crisper and clearer. You know the songs, you know the song sequence, listen to this iconic record again for the first time or maybe even with new ears. Replace that old, worn copy you may have with this pristine new edition. This pressing was released on 9.27.2019.
If you are buying from our site, use the convenient Buy Now button and a modest shipping charge will be added (usually $4.98) and you'll be directed to your own PayPal account. As always, thanks for your business and support of Rediscover Records.
Wasted Years - Off!

- Label: Vice Records
This record is getting quite the buzz in the punk music circles. This is the 2014 release by the band Off! (They also had a Record Store 7" single release) which includes "Void You Out", "Legion of Evil", "Mr Useless", "All I Can Grab" and "No Easy Escape". Here is what the press is saying! Press! "Faster, harder, fiercer, and scarier." -Rolling Stone. Also, from the sticker on the record, "The most direct and in-your-face embodiment of Off!'s mission yet. If you have any questions about the state of punk in 2014, this is your answer."
Chulahoma - Black Keys

- Label: Fat Possum Records
Originally released in 2006 this record finds the Black Keys covering the great Junior Kimbrough. This set includes Keep Your Hands Off Her, Work Me, Meet Me in the City, and a few others. It's a 6 song EP, which back in the day meant "Extended Play" for those of you keeping score at home.
All Born Screaming - St Vincent

- Label: Universal Records (Import)
*Very* Limited red colored vinyl. St. Vincent's first self-produced record, All Born Screaming, is Annie Clark at her most unfiltered. This St Vincent record is an invitation to test the limits of what is possible - and to then keep going. Brought to life with the aid of a highly curated dream lineup of friends - Rachel Eckroth, Josh Freese, Dave Grohl, Mark Guiliana, Cate Le Bon, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Stella Mogzawa and David Ralicke - the album is an unadulterated expression of St. Vincent's singular vision. This is the suggested retail price being it on the limited presses red vinyl.
A Ghost Is Born - Wilco

- Label: Nonesuch
This 2025 reissue, single disc! With Wilco's "A Ghost Is Born" they continue to get further away from their alt-country and rock humble beginnings after the demise of Uncle Tupelo. This is not a bad thing at all, imagine if The Beatles continued to write songs like "Love Me Do" and didn't evolve into greatness like "I Am the Walrus". Perhaps Jeff Tweedy's finest hour exists on this record with "Not What You Think". While we are making Beatle comparisons, there is about 15 minutes of mindless noise on here that may remind most listeners of "Revolution #9". This, in our opinion, is where the record becomes, "A Ghost Is Bored". We just thought we'd throw that in there. We love Wilco!
Divers - Joanna Newsom

- Label: Drag City
Double album set from Drag City Records recording artist Joanna Newsom "Divers". Sometimes the artist's site has the best capsule for a record much better than we could come up with, so here's Drag City's brief bio on this album, "...further along and down the road apiece from where she took her leave of us, Joanna Newsom plays on. Breathe deep and equalize your today-ears to the new world of Divers...
Twin Plagues - Wednesday

- Label: Dead Oceans Records
2021 release from one of the bigger buzz bands of 2023. You may have heard of "Rat Saw God" but check out this earlier release where it might be a little more shoegaze than Americana. Includes the title track, Handsome Man, Cliff, One More Last One, and others.
30 - Adele

- Label: Columbia Records
This is 30. This is 30 at $38.98. The highly anticipated record from the incomparable Adele. The 2 record collection includes My Little Love, Crazy By Nature, Oh My God, Can I Get It, and others. It's her first release since "25" in 2015 when she was 25.
RTJ4 - Run the Jewels

- Label: BMG Records
The much-anticipated release 2020 from Run the Jewels! Includes the hit Ooh La La as well as Yankee and the Brave (ep 4), Out of Sight, Pulling the Pin, and others. Entertainment Weekly says, "The no-holds barred rap duo return when we need them most." Listen to what the New York Times has to say, "Run the Jewels are rewriting rap's rules." A two disc set with a lyric book. Dope.
Blonde On Blonde - Bob Dylan

- Label: Columbia Records
Bob Dylan's sprawling 1966 release Blonde On Blonde offered up here!. Replicates the original song sequence from Columbia Records with "Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands" occupying all of Side 4. That wild mercurial sound with "Visions Of Johanna" and "Absolutely Sweet Marie", among others. One of the greatest records of all time as well as one of the very first double albums of the rock era.
Great Impersonator - Halsey

- Label: Columbia Records
"A Lifelong Performance By Halsey" reads the back of the record jacket. A 2024 release by the eclectic artist, Halsey, this album includes Dog Years, Only Living Girl In LA, Letter to God, Darwinism, and others. A sharp looking gatefold release with awesome liner notes too.
Bambi - Hippo Campus

- Label: Fat Possum Records
2018 release from the St Paul-Minneapolis combo, Hippo Campus! Includes Mistakes, Anxious, Doubt, Bambi, Golden, and others. This record probably includes as many one-word song titles as Pearl Jam "Ten". Probably. NPR named them their favorite new artist of 2017.
Let It Come Down - Spiritualized

- Label: Fat Possum Records
Rad reissue of "Let It All Come Down", the 2001 record, by Spritualized. This is pressed to two-180 gram slabs of vinyl sweetness. Includes On Fire, Do It All Over Again, The Twelve Steps, and others. All songs written and arranged by J. Spaceman (Jason Pierce). Recorded at Air Studios and Abbey Road Studios. A very long list of artists contribute on this LP. Check the back of the album liner notes for the names! Liner notes are cool.
Wild Onion - Twin Peaks

- Label: Grand Jury Records
We're excited to be carrying Twin Peaks "Wild Onion"! Released in 2014 on the Grand Jury label, there is no shortage of praise for this rock combo, as you can see in just a couple of the quotes here. Included in this LP is "I Found A New Way", "Mirror of Time", "Sloop Jay D", "Stranger World", "Flavor", "Hold On" and others. Look at the album art font, looks like a wonderful homage to the Beach Boys "Wild Honey". In any event, pick this up today! Includes an MP3 download of the entire record so you can take it on the go.
Afterlife - Five Finger Death Punch

- Label: Better Noise Music
Twelve great songs spread out over a 2 record set. This is the 9th studio album from this Las Vegas heavy metal combo. This 2022 release includes the title track as well as, Judgement Day, Blood and Tar, Gold Gutter, Welcome to the Circus, The End, and others. Recorded at The Hideout in Vegas and this record was produced by Kevin Churko. As of this writing (8.19.22), this is the canary yellow vinyl version. If buying from our site, a small S&H charge will be added as you pay with PayPal. As always, thanks!!
Tortured Poets Dept - Taylor Swift

- Label: Rep
Another fantabulous release from Taylor Swift! With a few variants out there that she releases we'll just post a couple here. No guarantee we'll have the variant pictured here but if we have it on our site, we'll have some version of the record. Two record set with several guests performing with Taylor as well as several other songwriters penning a few tunes with her.
Boys & Girls In America - Hold Steady

- Label: Vagrant Records
"Boys & Girls In America". The title, taken from Jack Kerouac's "The Road" spins similar tales of people on the move and in & out of love. If you look up lists for the best records of the 00's, this record is frequently on these lists. Includes "Chips Ahoy", "Stuck Between Stations", and "Chillout Tent", which includes vocals from Dave Pirner. A force live, this band has a very rabid fan base which is an event in itself.
As It Ever Was, As It Will Be Again - Decemberists

- Label: Yabb Records
Brand new record, if you're reading this in June of 2024, from The Decemberists! Great lyrics, songs, melodies, and they were on Parks and Rec. What more could you want? Find it here! Thanks for shopping with us.
Evergreen - Soccer Mommy

- Label: Loma Vista Records
Sophie Allison has always written candidly about her life, making Soccer Mommy one of indie rock’s most interesting and beloved artists of the last decade. On Evergreen, Allison is again writing about her life but life’s different these days. Since 2022's Sometimes, Forever, Allison experienced a profound and personal loss. New songs emerged, unflinching reflections on what she was feeling. She wanted them to sound that way too, as true to the demos as possible. Nothing overindulgent, everything real.
The 5, 6, 7, 8's - The 5, 6, 7, 8's

- Label: Third Man Records
Not only is this band big in Japan, they are from Japan! They are the 5, 6, 7, 8's, "three beautateous, leopard skin clad Set Kittens wilding enough HHHHOTTT, sultry steaminess to melt butter with just a look" - Russell O'Day. How's that for liner notes? Find more liner notes from O'Day on the back of this jacket and ever better music from the 5, 6, 7, 8's, songs like, "Harlem Nocturne", "Oriental Rock", "One Potato", "Scream", and "Handsome Man", to name a few. Ya gotta love what the Third Man Records label has done with the resurgence of vinyl. Of course, they are just part of the equation. You the record buyer are the biggest part! Find this, of course, in our New Vinyl rack at our new location (as of March 2014) on 9 S. Spring St.
Nightfall of Diamonds - Grateful Dead
