Like A Puppet Show - Sandro, Malkovich, Alexandrakis

Label: Cryogenia

Surreal if not completely bizarre release by Sandro Miller, John Malkovich, and Eric Alexandrakis. Sandro is an Elgin native and an Elgin High Graduate. He stopped by to sign a few copies of these records (see above photo) so we could have them in the shop. Spoken word performances by Malkovich with music accompianment by the likes of Sean and Yoke Lennon, OMD, Cranberries Delores O'Riordan, Ric Ocasek, and others. You really have to hear it to believe it. Sandro was involved with most of the photos. Follow him in instagram at sandro_film.

Afterlife - Five Finger Death Punch

Label: Better Noise Music

Twelve great songs spread out over a 2 record set. This is the 9th studio album from this Las Vegas heavy metal combo. This 2022 release includes the title track as well as, Judgement Day, Blood and Tar, Gold Gutter, Welcome to the Circus, The End, and others. Recorded at The Hideout in Vegas and this record was produced by Kevin Churko. As of this writing (8.19.22), this is the canary yellow vinyl version. Saint of Second Chances - Nathan Graham

Debut release from Nathan Graham on Chicago's Pravda Records. Graham spend years honing his craft as a guitar-for-hire on recordings and backing various musicians live at places like Buddy Guy's Legends and Kingston Mines. This record includes Good Honest Man, Fake Friends, Somebody Else, and others.

It Takes A Thief - Coolio

Another excellent 2022 Record Store Day selection released in April of 22. "It Takes A Thief" was Coolio's debut record and this version is pressed to 2 records. Another fantabulous release from Taylor Swift! With a few variants out there that she releases we'll just post a couple here. No guarantee we'll have the variant pictured here but if we have it on our site, we'll have some version of the record. Two record set with several guests performing with Taylor as well as several other songwriters penning a few tunes with her.

Boys & Girls In America - Hold Steady

Label: Vagrant Records

"Boys & Girls In America". The title, taken from Jack Kerouac's "The Road" spins similar tales of people on the move and in & out of love. If you look up lists for the best records of the 00's, this record is frequently on these lists. Includes "Chips Ahoy", "Stuck Between Stations", and "Chillout Tent", which includes vocals from Dave Pirner. A force live, this band has a very rabid fan base which is an event in itself.

Gigaton Tour Edition - Pearl Jam

Label: Monkeywrench Records

2020 vinyl release of Gigaton but in this edition it includes a live CD of 11 or the 12 songs from the record. This version is exclusive to indie record stores like Rediscover. So pick it up here or your favorite indie shop where you live.

The River - Bruce Springsteen

Reissue of the 1980 classic from Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Includes Drive All Night, Ties That Bind, Wreck On the Highway, Hungry Heart, Out in the Street, Cadillac Ranch, Ramrod, The Price You Pay, Point Blank, and others. This was his fifth record and the tour to support this record was, like most of his tours, of epic proportions.

This is the reissue of the single disc version and does it ever sound fantastic! This, as you know, was pre-Nevermind, pre-Geffen records, pre-Unplugged, pre Alternative before "Alternative" became a marketing tool, and pre-Albini. Here is where it all started and you were probably in pre-school when it came out, or something like that. Stop in and pick it up or order it online from this site. Harry's House - Harry Styles

Harry's House is the third solo studio album from Grammy award-winning global superstar Harry Styles. The 13-track full-length album was recorded in multiple locations across the UK, Los Angeles, and Tokyo from 2020 to 2021. It was written by Harry alongside frequent collaborators Kid Harpoon, Tyler Johnson, and Mitch Rowland. Includes printed inner sleeve, postcard, and 12 page booklet.

Nimrod - Green Day

Label: Reprise Records

The fifth studio album from Green Day and was first released in 1997 and contains, arguably, their most well-known song, Good Riddance (Time of Your Life). Getting beyond their 3-chords and a cloud of dust approach, this is an album that features other instrumentation that wasn't on records like Dookie or Insomniac, things like strings, horns, and harmonicas. Also includes Hitchin' a Ride, Grouch, Redundant, Jinx, Uptight, and others. It's a 15 track record which was cut down from 30 tracks. 2015 release from Halsey! Includes New Americana, Drive, Roman Holiday, and others. ELLE says, "Halsey's brutally honest muisc will make you pay attention." A nice looking gatefold release, this particular version is on pink vinyl, which is subject to change, of course.

All Born Screaming - St Vincent

*Very* Limited red colored vinyl. St. Vincent's first self-produced record, All Born Screaming, is Annie Clark at her most unfiltered. This St Vincent record is an invitation to test the limits of what is possible - and to then keep going. Brought to life with the aid of a highly curated dream lineup of friends - Rachel Eckroth, Josh Freese, Dave Grohl, Mark Guiliana, Cate Le Bon, Justin Meldal-Johnsen, Stella Mogzawa and David Ralicke - the album is an unadulterated expression of St. Vincent's singular vision. This is the suggested retail price being it on the limited presses red vinyl.

Revolver (Box Set) - The Beatles

Label: Parlophone Records

HOLIDAY SEASON ALERT!! A great gift idea!! A very elaborate box set to celebrate the making of The Beatles landmark 1966 release, "Revolver". Fabulous packaging, this set includes Giles Martin (George Martin's son) remastered LPs of both the stereo and mono mixes. Also includes a double album of demos, outtakes, and rehearsal that really give you a "fly on the wall" listen of The Beatles process. The single "Paperback Writer" and "Rain" was not on "Revolver" but a 45rpm single is included here in both stereo and mono. These recent box sets highlighting Beatles records have included 100+ page books and "Revolver" is no exception. This book includes dozens of rare photos, a forward by Paul McCartney, notes from Kevin Howlett and Giles Martin, details on the cover art by Klauss Voorman, as well as detailed liner notes on each song. A steep price, yes, but if you're a Beatles fan or know a Beatles fan, this is a must-have. Plus, when the other *vinyl* box sets have sold out, typically they are gone and out of print.

Get one before they go out of print! There's the indie version (which we have at this writing 10/8/24) but you know full well those will be gone soon as will the regular black vinyl release.

The 5, 6, 7, 8's - The 5, 6, 7, 8's

Label: Third Man Records

Not only is this band big in Japan, they are from Japan! They are the 5, 6, 7, 8's, "three beautateous, leopard skin clad Set Kittens wilding enough HHHHOTTT, sultry steaminess to melt butter with just a look" - Russell O'Day. How's that for liner notes? Find more liner notes from O'Day on the back of this jacket and ever better music from the 5, 6, 7, 8's, songs like, "Harlem Nocturne", "Oriental Rock", "One Potato", "Scream", and "Handsome Man", to name a few. Ya gotta love what the Third Man Records label has done with the resurgence of vinyl. Of course, they are just part of the equation. You the record buyer are the biggest part! With the world opening up again in 2021, look for her on tour. According to a piece we read in Vox, she's looking forward to to touring and being around people again. Aren't we all.

Nightfall of Diamonds - Grateful Dead

Record Store Day exclusive from 2024 from the Grateful Dead! A 4-record set (7 sides) recorded live in 1989 at New Jersey's Meadowlands Arena. Tunes include Uncle John's Band, "Jam" (of course lol), Dark Star, Deal, Let It Grow, Playing in the Band, and others, which include the obligatory Dylan cover with Stuck Inside Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again. 

Lookout Low - Twin Peaks

Add this record to the list of great 2019 releases. If you're in the camp of "music just isn't the same anymore as it was back in the day", we say, one; congratulations you've become your parents, and two; turn over a few more stones and you'll find all kinds of great music in multiple genres. Get your lo-fi garage rock on with the Chicago combo, Twin Peaks! Included on this record is Dance Through It, Ferry Song, Under A Smile, Oh Mama, and others. Produced by the great Ethan Johns and was recorded at Monnow Valley Studios in Wales.
